Twilight Run" is a captivating oil painting that measures 12x24 inches. This tranquil nighttime scene depicts a large barge steadily moving across a body of water, positioned on the right side of the composition. The barge, illuminated by its lights, casts a serene reflection on the calm, dark water, adding a touch of life to the otherwise quiet night.
The left side of the painting fades into deeper hues of blue, capturing the vast expanse and depth of the night sky. This darker transition contrasts beautifully with the illuminated barge, drawing the viewer's eye across the entire canvas. In the background, a silhouetted landmass stretches horizontally, creating a sense of distance and perspective that adds depth to the scene.

The color palette, dominated by shades of blue and grey, enhances the serene and contemplative atmosphere of the painting. The scene was inspired by the sight of the first barge of the season on the Mississippi River at Lock 10, capturing the magic and tranquility of twilight on the water. What stands out in this piece is the skillful use of deep blues and the meticulous reflection on the water, creating a harmonious balance between light and dark.
